About the Role
Mayday Personnel have an exciting opportunity to join a friendly, reputable business as a Warehouse Operative in the Southampton area of Hampshire . This is an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic team with a great support structure for employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing materials, operating the counterbalance forklift (once trained), using hand scanners and computer systems.
This role offers excellent opportunities to either develop your skills, with full training to operate the Counterbalance and/or Reach Forklift in-house if you get on well!
Requirements
Duties:
Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, ensuring accuracy and safety
Operate forklift trucks (both Counterbalance and Reach)
Manage materials handling processes, including sorting, stacking, and storing items
Order picking using hand scanners in a timely manner for dispatch
Assist with shipping and receiving activities, tracking inventory and producing invoices
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Skills:
Proven experience in a warehouse environment with knowledge of materials handling procedures
Confidence in basic computer and scanner systems
Proficient in operating forklift trucks; valid certification preferred or an opportunity to learn this skill
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Basic mathematical skills for measuring, counting, and recording quantities accurately
A strong work ethic, the right attitude and a want to grow within the business and develop skills with training provided
Working Hours:
Monday - Friday
9am - 6pm, 40 hours a week
Salary:
Starting rate of £13.00 per hour, with an increase after 3 months.
